Fall

We started out Fall with a sick little girl.  She had a low grade fever for days and we thought it was her ears again after just getting off medicine.  But momma finally figured it out.  She was getting one of her 2 year molars.  She is much better now and is on the mend. (not a great shot of me...but that is my pitiful face for her ;-(

That Thursday was "Maroon day at CDO"
We borrowed a shirt from "G" since it didn't fit him anymore.  She thought she was lookin' good with a lion on the front of her shirt.

Gotta love a close up!

PUMPKIN PATCH TIME!
We have the best pumpkin patch at our local Methodist church.  I love getting "V" all dressed up to take pics there.  Most years, "G" comes with us, but we just ran over one evening to do it quickly this year.  Special "THANKS" to the ladies manning the pumpkins who helped get some great shots of "V".  They were yelling her name, clapping with her, and jumping up and down to get a great shot!

Happy Fall to you ALL!

2 years...3 months

I haven't done a "where you are now" type of post in a while.  With no "baby book" to keep up with all of "V's" stuff, I feel I need to throw it on here from time to time so I don't forget all the things that drive me nuts and make me laugh my head off about her!

Let's just get those unwanted ones out of the way shall we...

Favorite words of hers...not ours!
  • stop it
  • no
  • mine
  • slap mommy (clarification...she accidentally slapped me and I told her NOT to slap mommy...then she turned it around to "Slap mommy?"

Things that "V" does that we don't really care for at the moment:
  • going completely limp when you need her to stand up and come with you
  • taking her diaper or pull up off BEFORE she gets to the bathroom
  • throws a fit about getting in or getting out of the car...take your pick
  • screams at the top of her lungs for no reason...especially while in the car
  • that she screams when I go to pick her up from my mom's house daily as if I beat her with a wooden spoon
  • that she is RELENTLESS!  once she gets something in her head, she will NOT let you hear the end of it.
  • running away from us...no bueno!

Favorite words of hers and OURS TOO!
  • I am pretty!
  • I am smart!
  • I am funny!
  • Love you mommy and daddy
  • when she prays
  • singing church songs
  • greeting all those around her with no inhibition
  • counts in Spanish to 10

Thing that "V" does that we LOVE:
  • tries to get others to clap, sing, and other random acts like we are her pets
  • the way she talks about her "friends" - she knows all their names and what part of her life they come from (school, church, or just friends)
  • that she pretends to be a monkey on the bed and then says "Oh no, "V" gonna fall"... and then makes herself gently fall on the bed...trust me it is cute ;-)
  • That she has a great level of excitement and says "OH BOY!" about everything new to her.
  • That she LOVES her family and can't wait to see them.
  • her great imagination and fake phone conversations on her play cell phone...priceless!
  • that when you say "lets take a picture", she goes to the nearest wall and back up on it so I can take her picture.
  • that she retains EVERYTHING!  Even when you don't want her too ;-)  (Please see above..."STOP IT")
  • The way she is with new babies...she loves them and wants to hold them.  She tries to be a good momma to them.
  • Her hugs...they are so tight
  • sweet kisses....she loves to give kisses
  • She is always up for an adventure...she loves to leave the house and go for a "trip"
There are so many more I could list and as I come across the good, bad, and the ugly...I will add them to this list.  She is ever changing and I can't keep up fast enough.

Sept. catch up and Oct. off and running!

Our September was very busy and hectic...as I am sure October is going to be as well! (at least it is looking that way only 9 days into it!)
I got Artie to go to the park with us one afternoon when it was GREAT weather.
It is a great little park in our community!

She loved the monkey bars...never would have guessed...HA!

The man she loves the most!

I am not sure I can say I am her favorite lady these days...you would have to see her with my sister and my mom.  They rank REALLY high in her "LOVE scale" these days.

DAY AT THE ZOO!
My sister and brother in law went somewhere (I forgot now), so my mom and I took "G" and "V" to the zoo.  I have a season pass, so it is great to get to go for "free".

This snack either smelt or heard something on the other side of this door...scary!

Someone was afraid of the fake turtle...really??

Lovin near the stinky elephants!

"G" should be my brother's kid...he ALWAYS shuts his eyes in pictures.

SO excited about how close the lion came!

Feeding those giraffes.  "V" doesn't look to pleased.

The carousel ride...take #2
The first time we rode the carousel, "V" freaked out.
So I decided we would ride again, but not on an animal.  MUCH better this time.  We just sat together while she had a DEATH grip on my clothes.
But no tears...until it was over and she wanted to ride again.
You can't win for losing.

Rachel's 4th b-day party
Artie's friend from high school that lives near us has a little girl that turned 4.  She had the party at the gym where she takes gymnastics.  "V" had a blast!

Happy Birthday!

The balloon man was there.

His mom was a face painter.  She did a great job on Rachel!

"V" got a balloon elephant.

Fun times as a girl!
I found these rollers that just stick and stay in her hair.  I pretended to "fix" her hair and she loved it.  Kept trying to put them back in and pull them out all night.

We like to eat popcorn in a box...but not with a fox.

Getting ready for church this past Sunday!
