Better late than never!

I have been gone a lot since summer has started and it has taken me until now to play catch up with my blogs.

Father's Day - 2012
We started the weekend off by going to Babe's resturant in Cedar Hill - YUM!  It is a family style chicken restaurant.  Needless to say, we were FULL when we left!
The picture below is before we left for church on Father's Day.  We ended up having to teach "V"'s class during Sunday school and during worship!  It was ok, because "V" and I were about to leave for a week in San Antonio to help Uncle Eric and the boys out.

"V" showing the rooster her dress.

Sorry for the little stubby toes...that is just how they came.
I hurt my middle toe during workship time.  My Dr.Pepper bottle fell on it and I swear I nearly screamed out 1000 thing I should never say!  They next day it looked like this - PURPLE!  It stayed that way all week and felt like it was broken.  We are back to normal now.

After church, "V" and I headed down to Boerne for the week.  This is "V" about Austin.

While waiting on Uncle Eric and the boys, "V" and I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood.

We played some ball too.

Our week with the boys was super fun.

We did our exercises...
Modeled...

unpacked boxes...

climbed mountains...

got dirty...

ate like a big girl...

went swinging...

Slept in crazy positions...

rode horses...

and solved super hard puzzles.

All in all, it was a great time with family.  "V" loves her cousins so much.
Can't wait to see them again!

Let's see...

Tonight while saying our prayers, "V" came up with this:  MiMi, PawPaw, Sissy (my sister) D, Grant, (then said "Let's see..."), Pooh, haw he (Eeyore - she says it backwards), owl, Pigglet, Tigger, Let's see...light, balloons, eat, pig, cow, Eric, Caleb, Aaron, E, and Amen.

Needless to say, it was a random kind of night for prayers.  But I loved every moment of hearing her come up with her own things to pray for.  She cracks me up with the things she learns.  17 days until her birthday!!

"V's" point of view

"V" loves my phone.  And when I say love, I mean "throw a huge fit because you won't let me see it when I wanna see it" kind of love.  She loves to play her "games" on there.  But her favorite part of my phone is the pictures I take with it.  She wants to look at herself and videos of herself all the time.
I finally found some fun ones to share.  This is what "V" sees around her world.

This is a video I found.  It is super funny (well, to me a least).
It was raining the other day so I opened up the front door so she could see out while I was doing laundry right down the hallway.  Next thing you know, I hear the doorbell ring.  It was the UPS man.  She just stood there and watched him...if you listen closely, you can hear her say HI to him.
I love her lots and all her crazy ways!

Let the sweet swimming begin!

Well, it is that time again.  It is so hot already, we decided to get "V" a bigger pool this summer.  She loves water, so daddy went to buy her a pool.  Of course he got her the one with the slide.  She just loves it.
**Warning - way too many pictures in this post**

I LOVE this face!

She was NOT happy that Otis kept drinking in HER pool.  She kept yelling at him and saying, "MINE".  Great!

GO!

Hope you are enjoying your summer!  What are you doing to keep cool in this crazy heat??

23 months and time to relax!

"V" is now 23 months.  In less than a month, "V" will be 2 years old.  Time has quickly gone by, but we have enjoyed getting her to this stage.
A few accomplishments since last month:  "V" can count to 15, knows all her upper and lowercase letters, and can tell us which letter goes with each member of the family.  She loves to eat pretty much anything we give her, but she will ask 100 times what it is before eating it.  She is talking so much more in 3-4 word sentences.  She still does a lot of babble...but most things are able to be figured out.

VACATION!
We went this past weekend to a little place between Gilmer and Avinger,TX  We rented a house for the weekend to get some peace and quiet and literally do nothing. There were great places to fish, but we opted just to hang out this time around instead of have "V" on a boat all day.

Getting some snuggle time in before sleep.

Someone was giving big hugs the next morning.

Outside of our house...Artie is hanging on the porch.

View of lake from deck.

She saw something...oh no!

Daddy love

We had dinner at the 5 D cattle company on Avinger.  It is WONDERFUL!  Too keep her from losing her mind from the wait, "V" played a couple of games.

Stickers always pass the time.

We had a very relaxing time this weekend.  It was hard to come home.  If you would like to know more about where we stayed, it is called Acorn Timbers.
