A little bit of my spring break

This past Sun.-Tues., my mom and I set off for Cedar Park to go see my brother and his family. Here are some pics of us at the park right by their home. Fletcher waited all day to play football.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Artie and I spent Valentine's Day at the Dallas Museum of Art to see the King Tut exibit. It was really neat to think that all the stuff on display is very well perserved and is older than Jesus.

Greg, Winonah, and Fletcher came up for the weekend. They got a good pic of him with his cousin.

The boys are growing up!

I can't believe we're about to have birthday parties for our little guys (3 and 1). Seems like only yesterday we were rushing down to Austin to see Fletcher right after he was born and staying up ALL NIGHT at the hospital waiting for Lacy to have Grant. Time does fly and I look forward to our future with the nephews, but I don't want to forget this fun part of their life either.

This is Fletcher watching his fav. TV show (Jacks's music show)
Fletcher this past weekend.

Just after birth

Grant at my mom's house - she keeps him during the day.

Ok - I know this is not my nephew, but I just wanted to show how big our other guy is getting. We got him at 9 lbs and last vet. visit he was 22 lbs. He is nearly 4 months. Very smart and is learning from his big sis how to act. She is a good teacher.

Sitting by Artie because he is wanting some of his peanuts. As you can see, Lola is on the couch. She didn't get any.

My weekend in California!

Well, I spent my MLK weekend with my oldest friend in the world - technically, I am year older than her - but, she has been my friend since big hair, tight rolled jeans, and keds were in style.
This is us on the ferry to San Francisco.
This is where she lives and this is the cool old theater in the town... oh, how I miss the TARA! (For Ennis people ONLY)
The Golden Gate Bridge

The BART (The Bay Area Rapid Transit)

Our trolly car ride!

Me and Amy at lunch at the Claremont Hotel.

The cattle guard bridge (my fav.!)

Took this from the plane - I think Southwest should pay me for this one - I like it!

Saw it and liked it.

This is the beach in Alameda. Got to see some surfers.

Me and Laura at the Claremont.

The Bay Bridge

Beautiful sunset!

We went to the dog park 2 different times (I missed my dogs). The 2nd time, we got to see these funny gals. TOO CUTE!

Looked like a fish from the sky.

The Sierra Nevadas

These were what inspired George Lucas to make the At At's in the Return of the Jedi.

Most of this was kind of random. Just wanted to show some pics of the fun weekend I had.

A night with Celine!

Artie heard me mention that I thought Celine would put on a great show and that it would be fun to see her when she comes to Dallas in Jan. Well, he is a good listener and got me 2 tickets to see her Jan. 5th for my birthday/Christmas present. My friend from Ennis - Christine - came with me. It was a wonderful concert and we had seats nearly right in front of her. So the pictures are close up because we were up close and personal! And for all those guys that would NEVER attend a Celine concert - we got to see Emmitt Smith there with his wife. I would put the pic on here but you really have to know what you are looking at to find him in the crowd. But trust me, he was there!

"I drove all night" to get to American Airlines center in the nearly ice storm we had - but it was worth it!

Me and Christine and the MASSIVE spotlight in our face.

This is my fav. pic. She has such good outfits and these shoes were crazy! Her face always shows so much expression and I am glad I caught one of her singing expressions.

Yet another costume change!

This is her first outfit - they are all so short - but if I had her legs - I would wear that too!

Check out those boots - they are ALL the way up her leg!
This was her last song - the titanic song - Just thought it was really cool with the candles.

This was a nice outfit. We figured out it took her about 1 min to do a costume change.

Happy New Years - 2009!

Artie and I spent our last night in 2008 at this fun little joint in Ennis called the Brown Street Cafe where the Jessie Jenkins band was playing. The owners of the cafe are church friends of ours, so they were hosting the gathering. We had a fun time just hanging out with friends as you can tell by Artie's picture of him with his New Years hat. This has been a wild year for us and our families. We have added new members to our family and lost some as well. We spent the better part of the year trying for a child and ended up with a new puppy. Our fence project that we started when we got married is so close to being finished I could nearly cry (if you saw the work we put into this fence - you would grasp the reason why I would weep over it.) We are blessed beyond measure and cherish our days together (didn't mean to rhyme). I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2009. I hope that you will take time to count your blessings today and everyday.

John 1:16 "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."

My blessing playing guitar hero until about 2:30 this morning - I fell asleep much earlier!
