P A R T Y!

Well, let me just first off say...if you have a child in the summer (and in Texas), I give you pity and props if you ever attempt a backyard BBQ with out a pool or water source to cool off in.  OH MY, IT WAS HOT!!!  Sweat was defiantly in abundance!

Sweet "V" got to have her first b-day party in our backyard.  We didn't have a huge party, but it was with family and super close friends (basically family).  Artie did some grillin' of hot dogs and hamburgers and we had a super great cake!  Water and drinks were a big hit!

Artie grilling and sweating up a storm!

Rachel trying to tickle "V".

"V" loving Aunt Winonah's drink and how cold it is!

"V" giving one of her special looks to the camera...she is probably mad because I had just shoved that clip in her hair for the 1000th time!!!!

BK and Dana came to celebrate with us.

Erica was in town visiting Daniel, Lacy and Grant...so she came on to the party too!

Christine loving on "V" and Jacob getting in some much needed tickle time.

Aaron and Fletcher - new Lego buddies

The balloons were a HIT!

Pinata problems...Got a pinata that you don't have to hit...or so I thought.  There were ribbons attached to the bottom and it said to pull the ribbons and all the goodies would fall out.  Well, not the case.  All the kiddos started pulling and NOTHING.  Just a ladybug on a hook and nothing was coming out.  David was so kind to whip out his pocket knife and cut a big rectangle out of the bottom.  Then it just got funnier.

We are all ready with our bags!

Fletcher got smart.  While all the others were looking on the ground for the stuff, he just opened up his bag and held it under the whole where stuff was falling out.  He had a full bag in NO TIME!

Rachel figured out what he was doing and tried it herself.

Look what I got!

The cake

cookies!  (sweetly arranged by nephew Ethan)

First bite of icing

A clap of cheers for how good the cake is!

Grant loving on "V's" belly

The boys swingin'

Big laughs on the big swing

All our nephews + 1 (Jacob) with our sweet "V")

"V" after a bath and some cooling off riding one of her presents.

Party is over and so are the balloons!

"V" had fun seeing everyone at her party and everyone holding and making a fuss over her.  It was a great party, but I am also glad it is over.  Can't wait to see what this next year holds for us!
